Article Summary:
As part of our Energy Control solution you can easily set and apply up to 2 years worth of day patterns across relevant zones, following a repeated behaviour pattern (typically 7 days to align with the days of the week). This is done via the schedule builder flow which can be access in zone settings. Read on for more details.
Introduction:
This article will go through how you can use the schedule builder to apply a schedule of behaviour over multiple zones for a pro-longed period of time. This is the best way to set multiple days (weeks/ months) worth of day patterns across multiple zones.
For more on day patterns click here: Day patterns – ArcSett.
Navigation:
In order to apply the schedule building, you need to have access to the control panel with Manager or Site Manager level permissions - see here for more information on permissions: Permissions chart – ArcSett.
Once you are at the panel:
1. Select the ArcSett Logo in the top left hand corner.
2. Log in to the control panel using your 6 digit PIN.
3. Click the Logo again and choose settings.
4. Select Schedule Builder.
5. Action changes as appropriate.
Using the Schedule Builder:
The Schedule builder works in 3 phases:
1. Equipment & Days Select: Choose the type of equipment you would like to set the day pattern for. Secondly, select the number of days you would like the pattern to take. We recommend 7 (to match with a working week).
You will also be required to select the specific zones that you would like to apply the day patterns towards. It is important to note that only the zones that match the type of equipment selected will load on this screen. Select all zones you want to apply this pattern of behaviour too.
2. Match Day Patterns with Schedule: On this page you can select a suitable day pattern for each day of the schedule. You can do this by clicking the day number, where you will be presented with a drop down for all of the day patterns available to use.
Note: On the next screen you will be able to select the start date from which this pattern of behaviour will take effect from.
3. Dates Select: Using the ‘from date’ option, ensure you select the appropriate start date from when you want this schedule of behaviour to begin (it will default to today).
Clicking on the ‘from date’ or ‘to date’ will bring up a date selector page which will enable you to schedule day patterns up to 2 years in advance.
Once you are happy with the scheduled dates you can select to save and apply.
The colour coding of day patterns should allow you to confirm that appropriate day patterns are configured for the right days.
Note: If you don’t select a new date, the pattern of behaviour will take effect from ‘today’. This will mean that day 1 = today. Day 2 = tomorrow. If I were doing this on Thursday the 6th of April, then Day 1 would be Thursday, Day 2 would be Friday and so on.
After selecting to save and apply a success message should confirm that your changes have been applied. You can then immediately view these changes in your calendar.

Validation of Outputs:
In order to validate if the schedule builder has correctly applied your schedule:
- An output status message should be displayed after you click to save and apply. If this displays an error message then the schedule application was not successful.
- You can also quickly view via the calendar function. By selecting the Arcsett logo, then calendar. You can choose and zone and see if the new schedule has been applied across the relevant zones and date ranges.
