Article Summary:
You can configure the cooling difference for each zone via the Control Panel by accessing the zone settings page and updating the settings as part of the control settings for each zone. Read on further for more details.
Introduction:
This article will go through how you can amend the cooling difference.
Many industrial heating units can be set to operate in 'cool' mode. In this mode the heater will utilise the fan to circulate the air via the fan, without using the burner.
The cooling difference is the temperature difference between target temperature and actual temperature when cooling activates. The higher this number the longer the system will wait before activating cooling.
Navigation:
In order to amend the cooling difference, you need to access the control settings for each zone.
Once you are at the panel:
1. Select the ArcSett Logo in the top left hand corner.
2. Log in to the control panel using your 6 digit PIN.
3. Click the Logo again and choose settings.
4. Select Zone Settings.
5. Expand the control settings for the relevant zone.
6. Action changes as appropriate.
Understanding the Cooling Difference:
The cooling difference is the temperature difference between target temperature and actual temperature when cooling activates. The higher this number the longer the system will wait before activating cooling.
For heating equipment (which this primarily applies to), the cooling refers to the activation of fans in the equipment, without the use of any heat generation from the equipment.
If you feel that your cooling is activating too frequently, you can increase this value on your settings and it will switch on/ draw less energy, less frequently.
Alternatively, if you feel that your site is getting too hot before the cooling activates it could be worth taking a look at both this and your target temperature to ascertain if you can improve it. You can choose to reduce the cooling difference, or you can reduce the target temperatures which may provide better energy savings and efficiency.
Configuring the Cooling Difference:
When you access the Zone Settings, you will be presented with the below screen:
Note: You can configure the cooling difference for all ones via the 'All Zones' option. Alternatively you can configure each zone individually, as shown above.
On this screen you can see the Cooling Difference within the control settings.
Please ensure that you use the arrow keys or the drop down option to select which zone you would like to configure.
Cooling is configured via the the cooling difference setting as part of the zone settings. It is also better to ensure you have an active Schedule with suitable Day Patterns in place.
Validation of Outputs:
In order to confirm any changes to the cooling difference have been successful, you can simply close the zone settings and re-open them. By navigating to the applicable zone you will see update values based on changes made.
Any changes made to the zone settings should be reflected immediately.
