Our Outstations
The term 'Outstation' is what we use to describe the local controllers that are connected to the equipment being controlled, as well as back to the central control panel.
- Our Outstations are controllers that work in harmony with our central control panel to control each piece of HVAC equipment.
- They are hardwired both to the equipment and back to the main control panel, enabling communication and control.
- Manufactured in Oldham, UK, we program and rigorously test each unit to ensure its fully operational before deployment.
- An optional manual override switch can be installed for additional local control when required (but not recommended for those focused on energy savings!).
- Indicator lights on the Outstations provide real-time feedback, confirming that commands sent from the Control Panel—whether locally or remotely—are successfully received and relayed.
- These units are essential tools for our engineers and support teams, helping them quickly identify issues and implement effective fixes.
Troubleshooting using the outstation lights
The following scenarios show outstations without any major issue:
| When the outstation is not receiving power and is therefore switched off - no lights are lit. | |
| This is when the outstation is receiving power but no other activity is taking place. | |
| The outstation is on, the control system is asking for Relay 1 to activate, and we are receiving a signal back that this action is happening. This is usually the burner. | |
| The outstation is on, the control system is asking for Relay 1 to activate, and we are receiving a signal back that this action is happening. This is usually the fans. | |
| If the power is on and relay 4 us active that means the summer fan alone is on, and the light should always be glowing it means the fan is in cooling mode. |
The following scenarios show scenarios which may require investigation:
| When flicking between these two light combinations, this signals that the outstation has lost connection to the control panel. | |
| The control system has asked the equipment connected to relay 1 to activate, but we are not receiving a signal back to say this has happened. The most likely scenario this indicates is lockout mode. | |
| The control system has not asked the equipment to activate, we are receiving a signal that it’s activating without instruction. | |
| The control system has asked the equipment connected to relay 2 to activate, but we are not receiving a signal back to say this has happened. The most likely scenario this indicates is lockout mode. | |
| If the power light is on and relay 3 is flashing the unit is in lockout reset mode and has failed to activate |
