We regularly update our control system to make sure that you have access to the latest features and fixes our developers have been working on.
Most of our releases will contain a number of features and changes, the details of which can be found in our release notes.
The releases currently take three forms:
- Panel version updates
- Portal updates
- Outstation firmware updates
Panel Version Updates
We update panels on a regular basis to ensure that our customers continue to get new features and improvements. Generally, you can expect these to be done every 4 weeks. The updates to panels take around 5 minutes to perform and you will see your panel reboot when this occurs. You can check the version of software you are on by clicking the "shark fin" icon in the top bar of your panel.
In addition, we proactively monitor our software for issues and engage with customer feedback to ensure that any concerns are resolved in a timely fashion. These fixes are usually rolled into our regular feature releases however should we identify a critical problem this will be deployed by itself to allow us to avoid any impact to our customers.
It's imperative to make sure that your panel remains switched on and connected to the internet so that we are able to release new software on a regular basis.

Portal Updates
On a similar frequency, we regularly update the online portal with fixes and features which are unique to the online portal. You should experience no interruption in service during this time. It is not necessary for your control panel to be switched on for you to benefit from portal updates, however, this is not a good reason to have it switched off. We recommend that your system remains switched on at all times, both to have the benefit of new firmware AND to ensure your control system is functioning in the most optimal way.
Outstation Firmware Updates
Again, at regular intervals, we release a new version of the outstation firmware into the production environment. First we deliver the new version of the firmware to the control panel, and then roll it out to each of the outstations connected to the panel.
As before, it's important to make sure that your panel remains switched on and in communication, but also that your outstations also have power to them. Remember - your outstations draw their power from the HVAC equipment they are connected to. As such, if you isolate a heater, the outstation will have no power. You can leave your equipment switched on - the control system will take care of when the burner is fired.
You can check if your outstation are online in two ways:
The physical outstation has a power light - it's the top LED light. It should be lit up.
Online, in the browse screen, it will say if the outstation is offline - otherwise you'll be able to see the target/current temperature and status. You'll also see a fault on the panel to notify you that the outstation is offline.
